Q. Dear Steam Guy, DO YOU HAVE TO BE A MEMBER? 
A. Yes. Steam Portland is a private club for men only and a membership is required. Steam currently offers 6 month and 1 year memberships which give you a discrounted entry rate for your room or locker while your Elite membership is valid. Steam also offers single visit 1 day memberships which are good for 24 hours, this membership fee is included in the 1 day room and locker prices.

Q. Dear Steam Guy, DO I HAVE TO BE VACCINATED?
A. No. Steam no longer requires proof of vaccination for entry.

Q. Dear Steam Guy, WHERE DO YOU PARK WHILE AT STEAM PORTLAND? 
A. All parking around Steam Portland is free! Club Members can park on Sandy Boulevard. Also, on the side street adjacent to the club (NE 29th) there is additional parking and the access street behind the club (next to the freeway) has ample parking. Steam Guy asks everyone to be courteous to our neighbors and respect their assigned parking. 

Q. Dear Steam Guy, ARE THERE ANY JOBS AVAILABLE? (contact page) 
A. Steam Guy is amazed at the number of men who have expressed an interest in working at the club. An on-line Employment Application is available by clicking here, as well as open positions will be posted. If you are interested in employment, please fill out an application. All information will be held in strict confidence. Also, you need to be at least 18 years of age to work in the Club. 

Q. Dear Steam Guy, WHAT PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IS AVAILABLE? 
A. TriMet #12 Sandy Boulevard stops nearby. 

Q. Dear Steam Guy, DO YOU HAVE AN ATM? 
A. Yes, located in the front lobby entrance for easy access.

Q. Dear Steam Guy, DO YOU ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS? 
A. Yes we do. Visa, Mastercard, Discover & American Express. The charge will appear as a discreet corporate entity. The name Steam Portland will not appear on your statement. There is a minimum $10 charge on Credit Cards.

Q. Dear Steam Guy, HOW LONG CAN A MEMBER STAY IN THE CLUB? 
A. An entrance fee allows you to enjoy the facilities maximum 18 (eighteen) hours per visit. Your initial visit is 8 hour included in your purchase. You may say an additional 10 hours after your included 8 hours but will be charged per hour after your first 8 hours - to be paid at time of checkout. If you can not pay your overtime we will hold your ID until you can. Monday thru Wednesday we close at 11pm, so your max stay will end at 11pm.

Q. Dear Steam Guy, WHAT KIND OF ATTIRE IS ACCEPTABLE IN THE CLUB? 
A. Steam Guy wears nothing in the club! But you can also sport a towel, underwear, or fetish wear. Street clothes won't make it in the play areas, so leave them in your locker. 

Q. Dear Steam Guy, WHAT ARE MY LIMITS IN THE HOT TUB? 
A. Steam Portland takes great pride in the ability to supply its members with a clean, fresh hot tub. We always score highest marks with Multnomah County Health department. With that being said, we ask all members to keep all activity outside of the hot tub area. Meaning if your doing something that risks "adding" anything to our lovely hot tub, DONT DO IT! You will be asked to stop. 

Q. Dear Steam Guy, I AM AN OLDER MAN AND NOT IN THE BEST OF SHAPE. I ENJOY GOING TO THE BATHS BUT I HAVE BEEN TREATED RUDELY BY STAFF AND MEMBERS IN CLUBS IN OTHER CITIES. WOULD I BE COMFORTABLE AT STEAM PORTLAND? 

A. Our staff will treat all members with dignity and respect. Our motto is: Cleanliness, Friendliness & Fun! A lot will depend on your attitude and how you treat others as well. If you approach someone and there is no interest, its best to move on and find someone who is interested. Those young "hotties' are usually interested in each other, but you never know who might want a Daddy Bear! There is always someone for everyone! 

Q. Dear Steam Guy, WHAT IS THE SMOKING POLICY IN THE CLUB? 
A. Smoking is only allowed on our outdoor sun deck in the specific smoking area. it is our only designated smoking section, so enjoy some fresh air while you puff. E-Cigs are also not allowed inside the club at anytime. You do not have to leave to smoke like many other clubs. 

Q. Dear Steam Guy, WHAT IS THE CANNABIS POLICY IN THE CLUB? 
A. While Oregon has passed the new laws, effective July 1, 2015 for transporting and growing, and October 1, 2015 for personal purchase, it is still not allowed to be consummed in public places, including Private Clubs, per the Clean Air Act regulations. Because of this all smoking is to be done on the sun deck only in the specific smoking area, there is absolutely no smoking inside the club.

Q. Dear Steam Guy, IS STEAM PORTLAND WHEEL CHAIR ACCESSIBLE? 
A. Yes, Steam Portland has wheel chair accessible rooms and lockers on the main floor. The restrooms, showers and steam room are also wheel chair accessible, but the hot tub area is limited to your personal ability. 

Q. Dear Steam Guy, I AM A FEMALE AND WOULD LIKE TO VISIT YOUR CLUB, CAN I ENTER? 
A. Unfortunately no, Steam Portland is a Private Men's Only club and all members must be male, or by all definitions under state law identify as male and have "M" or Male on your legal ID. 

Q. Dear Steam Guy, ARE TRANSGENDER GUYS WELCOME? 
A. Yes, Steam Portland welcomes Trans guys, either MTF (as long as you are still legally male on your ID), or FTM (as long as you legally now identify as male on your ID). Any ID representing F or female will not be allowed in as we are a Private Men's Only club. 

Q. Dear Steam Guy, I have the new Oregon ID with X in the gender identification area. Can I still come in?
A. Unfortunately, because we are a private mens only club, we cannot accept gender X. Gender X is too general and does not specify a gender which as a private club we must adhere to and follow. Only ID's or passports with an M or Male are accepted.
